While doing the usually boring job of chopping onions, garlic, green peppers and celery for a pot of Chili, I listened online to classics at 89.9, a Portland, OR radio station.
Presto - the task no longer seemed boring.
Choose whatever kind of music you like.
It's melodic distraction turns one's mind away from dull focusing on veg configuration to pleasant, relaxing thought waves.
I think I'll turn on some music when cleaning the bathroom tomorrow!

Ice fishermen hang out by their fishing holes just off a snow-covered Lake Superior shoreline. They're perched on comfortable stools, basking in sunshine as they await a bob.
There's usually a cluster of fishing holes monitored by several elderly, experienced fishermen socializing as they wait.
As I hiked a nearby road, a young fisherman parked his truck, then unloaded an auger for drilling a hole in the ice, a sled, underwater camera and fishing gear. When we chatted as he prepared, he said he'd seen many a fish with that camera, including a four foot carp.
He's caught only a few smaller fish in the past but enjoys the trip, if for nothing else than to catch an underwater view.
